STEAM101: After School: Design and Build Foundations (Tue & Thur)
TechShop’s hands-on STEAM programming is now available after school. Participants are immersed in a creative environment that covers science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Across every subject, they learn how to approach life as problem solvers.
Learn the basics of how to operate a full array of tools in this elemental course that spans 8 weeks of after-school sessions. After learning how to use digital design software to create your own custom personal logo, you'll bring it to life in a variety of materials using laser cutters, 3D printers, vinyl cutters, and standard shop tools. At the end of the session, you will have a solid understanding of how to go from idea to design to creation, plus you will be certified to use all the aforementioned tools at TechShop.
Design and Build is a foundational course that will give young innovators safety clearance for the tools we use in our STEAM program and prepare them for the next course.
We will meet for 2-hour sessions, 2 days a week, for 8 weeks. Please arrive 10 minutes early on your first day so you can complete registration.
Class Times: 5PM-7PM
Class Dates: 08/22, 08/24, 08/29, 08/31, 09/12, 09/14, 09/19, 09/21, 09/26, 09/28, 10/10, 10/12
