Jim Newton
Jim is the Founder and Managing Director of TechShop. Jim came up with the idea for TechShop in
2004 when he realized that there are a lot of people who want to
build things but just don't have access to the required tools and
equipment. He has been an inventor and tinkerer for most of his life. Jim taught a popular series of combat robotics classes at the College of San Mateo, was a member of a BattleBots combat robotics team, and was the Science Advisor for the Discovery Channel's MythBusters show for season 3.
Mark Hatch
Mark is our CEO. He has a lot of very
applicable experience, having been at Kinko's corporation and Avery
Dennison.
Robert Thomas
Robert is our Director of Operations. Robert
is in charge of developing and enforcing TechShop policies and procedures for current and future TechShops.
Lynne Angeloro
Lynne is the Director of
Education Services at TechShop and is in charge of developing relationships with instructors, and making
the student experience rewarding and fun by helping to refine and polish the
curriculum that TechShop offers, as well as the development of content of new
classes going forward.
Sesame Mish
Sesame is TechShop's Office Manager. She keeps everything running behind the
scenes in the office at TechShop.
Michael Catterlin
Michael is TechShop Menlo Park's Store Manager. Michael is in charge of keeping the shop running as smooth as possible, as well as helping create a great member experience.
Abe Downey
Abe is TechShop Menlo Park's Facilities Manager as well as one of our fantastic Dream Coaches. He keeps TechShop's machines up and running. He also knows a lot about various fabriction processes and is always happy to help you with your projects.
Sebastian Bertsch, Rebecca Chapman, Terry Sandin, Aaron Haldiman, and Nick Streets
Our fantasic facilities crew and Dream Coaches. Our Dream Coaches are always around to assist you with your projects; as well as general shop, equipment and machine maintenence. They are all strong makers, with diverse fabrication backgrounds.
