Learn to use the computer-controlled vinyl cutter in this Safety and Basic Use (SBU) class. Import vector (outline) designs from graphic software such as Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW into FlexiStarter, the software used to control the vinyl cutter. Next, use TechShop's CNC vinyl cutter to cut adhesive vinyl sheet into professional looking signage or ready-to-apply paint masking. This is a great tool for making screens for silkscreen printing, too!

- Recommended:COM201: Adobe Illustrator for CNC, COM207: CorelDRAW for CNC
Minimum age: 12
Supervision requirements: During class, all students 8–12 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also enrolled in the class.
When using the laser cutter outside of class time, members 8–12 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian who has passed the SBU.
Safety: Closed-toe shoes are mandatory.
