WKS904: Learn How to Marble Paper
Class Number 926-35414

Paper marbling is an ancient method of aqueous surface design, which can produce patterns similar to smooth marble or other stone. The crazy marbled patterns are the result of water or oil based paint floated on a viscous solution known as size, and then carefully transferred to the surface of the paper. Through several centuries, people have applied marbled materials to a variety of surfaces. It is often employed as a writing surface for calligraphy, and especially book covers and endpapers in bookbinding and stationery. Part of its appeal is that each print is a unique monotype.

In this workshop, you'll use a little bit of chemistry and a healthy dose of experimentation to create stunningly beautiful works of art that you can use in a variety of applications. You won't want to stop marbling!
