WOD104: Metal Spinning

Learn to safely spin metal on the wood lathe, and then use your woodturning techniques to manufacture hard maple tooling to use to spin pewter, aluminum, copper, brass or silver into beautiful and functional products.
In this Safety and Basic Use (SBU) class, you will learn how to set up the lathe, prepare the raw materials and use the different metal spinning tools. You will also learn how to safely use the lathe to spin metal using wooden tooling.
The project is a small aluminum bowl.
Prerequisite: You MUST have successfully completed the Wood Lathe SBU before taking this class.
